Right, but then couldn't you just make a sandwich of the cladding with a different metal in between? I don't know why you'd want to, but some nut out there did an experiment with ants by gluing hog bristles to their legs to find out whether or not they could count, so for every "who on earth would even think of that?" that person exists. (scary thought, when you get right down to it.)
