Thankyou Amaths. I bought them from a private collection. They have never been TPG, but I was thinking I may need to send these two gems in.

Stevex6...Red Wine! I thought you only drank that "important" Moosehead beer. lol Thankyou for your kind compliments. With gold being a softer metal than silver the strikes are often better than the silver coins that were minted back then. Because the gold pieces were all distributed in mint bags instead of rolls, and gold being so soft a metal, you very seldom find MS gold pieces that are not baggy (bag marks). The person I acquired them from is a prominent collector from my home town that bought them in the 1960's and took great care of them. As they have never been TPG the 1914 was purchased as a MS63 and the 1913 as a MS62. What they cost?...Lets just say I had to " max. out the ole visa". I posted them because I knew you CCF members are passionate about coins as I am, and would appreciate seeing them. Thankyou all for the compliments.

RoyalSilver, if you don't mind me asking, how much did that set you back? That's a key date I believe for proof toonies. I am thinking about putting a set together, since only the 1996 is terribly difficult to find.

$15? Incredible. That is a key date, the double dated 1996-2006.
