I've seen my share of shelf doubling over the years, largest before this was usually on old Eisenhower dollars...this 2005-P Yosemite St. Quarter takes the cake...sorry but hard to shoot, due to reflectiveness, will try for better later...the Designer initials, DE, are shifted upwards almost 1/32", as are most of letters, and outlines in a lot of areas...this was in a 2005 Uncirculated Mint Set, Satin Finish...the obverse is completely normal. I'll reshoot this, it deserves a better look--in hand, it's a mindblower. I'm in the middle of assembling a complete 2005-2010 SATIN FINISH coin album, with every coin, every mint, every year..the Dansco-type albums don't have slots for these, so, I'm making my own hybrid album.

Ya if there were doubling that severe for this coin, we would have many more reports about it to. Sorry bro!

Chzman..I know it's not a doubled die, there are no known for this year, and, would have been found by now...I was just showing the machine/shelf doubling....while most of these carry little to no premium, this one probably would make a small profit, with perfect pics to show the details...the other point I am curious about is why so much doubling on 1 side, and, not the other..my hunch is the lower die was loose from wear, and, shifted during the strike. If my pics were better, you would understand why I wanted to post this, no premium or not, it's still an interesting coin(to me, anyway!)

I put interesting MDs like this one in 2x2s, so I understand how you feel about them, not trying to ruin your day here.

When I started collecting, I was putting everything in 2X2's. I 10 years later realized, On cents I was loosing 4 cents per coin for the 2X2's. Live and learn.

makes me wonder when the issue was spotted..then stopped by mint workers to adjust the die setting--just happy to have this little example..I normally don't bother with these.
