My second post in just a few minutes! I also have a 1972-P mint bag that I opened and have started to search through. Here are 4 coins that exhibit doubling in the date. These photos are all of different coins. I think they might be Machine Doubling, but I am hoping they are not!

Let me know what you think!

Kevin

A full bag of 1972P coins. Sounds like a fun time searching ahead of you. While the coins you posted are nice...they are not DDO. I will watch this post as I hope you pull a gem or two from the bag. Good Luck and Happy Hunting.

Thank you for that reference! Very helpful. Based on that info, it apprears that all are Machine Doubling. Would you agree?

Here are the known DDO from Coppercoins site. These photos are borrowed from his site. 001, 002 and 004 are the biggies to look for.

Here is a link to the 1972P varieties. Have a look so you can compare and have an idea of what to look for. Good Luck!

You are taking great photos. Are you a photographer?

Keep searching and study the copper coins site. It is the best site for errors and varieties for copper coins. You won't find any better or even close in comparison.

Thank you for the kudos on the photos. I am not a photographer. These were taken with my point and shoot camera in "micro zoom" mode wtih good light from a banker's lamp. Appreciate all the help and advice. I have the copper coins site bookmarked and will be going there regularly!
