Thing is E Lyon died in 1858, and the address of his company then changed. Rulau lists a number of Lyon pieces from the 1850s, which is why I hoped that there might be a Rulau for this one too, at least to help clarify the date. Report this Post to the Staff

ExoGuy Pillar of the Community United States 4421 Posts	Posted 05/25/2012 11:20 am Circulated examples of this token typically sell in the $8-$12 range. Emanuel Lyon is listed in the 1858-9 NY City directory as a seller of powders at 424 Broadway. He was apparently out of business by 1861, so this token is classified in the so-called "Merchant Era" between the Hard Times and the Civil War tokens. Report this Post to the Staff
