From the colors on obv. It looks like someone's took a flame and heated this coin before.possibly trying to clean it? I couldn't tell you how much it's eorth but you can always look it up on vcoins or MA coins and try to find a similar example.

Interesting coin that doesn't appear very often. I would hold onto it, it would be a nice addition to an ancient collection.

You may be correct about your coin being in better condition, and it may be worth $250 to someone. But when I see similar coins for much less, like this one: http://www.vcoins.com/ancient/sphin...oduct=12911, I think my purse will do the talking. Good luck on selling your coin. I happen to agree with echizento. I would keep the coin to start my collection. Regards,

I agree and would keep it especially if I came across it in an uncleaned lot. Selling a coin at a better price or even at book value can take some time. Times are tough now days and even most modern coins are not selling at bid prices and modern coins usually have a bigger market- more buyers. Modern coins seem easier to sell at cat value. I don't know what the book on this coin is but if there are examples similar to this one "listed" at $80 then it might take a while for you to sell at a higher price. Keep in mind how long those coins have been listed and how long are they going to take to sell?

A pretty nice coin you have there. I don't know much about these Ptolemaic coins though.
BTW you might want to take Caps Lock off; others might think you are shouting.

If you just want to sell it I guess I would say ebay but just so you know ebay is not much of a sellers market, too many people like me who want to pay the least for the most value-always looking for deals. It seems like numistic value is going in the same direction of sports cards but bullion value is steadily going up. But then again you never know.
