So when I first read Mr. Jones' missive, I thought that it was at least an acknowledgement of the problem and a promise to fix it.
When I re-read the e-mail now, all I see is an excuse.
RCM marketing and sales have been very successful creating 20 sells outs in record time but production and logistics are failing them.
So what we actually have here is an e-mail from a director of Sales blaming the Operations department for
their failure. It is highly unlikely that a mid-level director of sales has any direct authority over production and therefore, the problem will likely continue.
This message should have come from Mr. Bennett, President and CEO or Ms. Lepine, Cheif Operating Officer or Mr. Hadsipantelis, VP of Marketing and Communication. At least then we would know it was sincere and being given a priority focus.
I also don't think the message addressed the issues that I have. Namely:
1. Why are mint shipments to customers being delayed in favour of dealers? I received the same coins weeks ago from dealers that I am still waiting for from the mint - keep in mind the mint is located in my city and the dealers are thousands of kilometres away. The Post Office routinely has coins on display and for sale weeks before I receive them from the mint. I understand they should have some priority but weeks?
2. Why are orders not filled in sequence? For example, my non-MC brother ordered his dino a week after I did, yet he's had his for a week and mine is nowhere in sight. The same happened with the 20 for 20; he had his a month before I did. (lives in GTA?). I have two orders for Glass Bees placed 8 days apart. The second order has been shipped, the first has not?
3. What does 'processing' mean on the tracking? Why do orders change status but nothing really seems to be happening from my end. The tracking system is simply terrible. It's often not updated - showing coins as processing that have been delivered.
4. Why, when something does ship, is the tracking number information blank in the notification e-mail? If the
RCM can't give the tracking number, why put a section in the e-mail for it? I like to know when items will be delivered so that I can be around to sign for them rather than having to make a trip to the PO - where I could have just bought the coin weeks early.
5. What exactly does 'awaiting stock' mean?
RCM is waiting on itself to supply the 'stock'? Is this just Sales blaming Operations again? Why can't orders be placed on items awaiting stock? I mean I've been awaiting stock on coins that I've ordered so from my stand point, everything
RCM selling is awaiting stock. Anything pre-order is certainly awaiting stock.
I'm sure there are other issues that I'm missing so feel free to add to the list.
So will things change? I'm not so sure.
BTW, today is May 29th. Most of the new coins issued to MC on May 14th were supposed to ship yesterday. Anyone have a ship notice yet?
Oh, and the glass bee has been updated from shipping May 25th to shipping June 1st.
Sure it will.
