I also have the Bird series coins in the $10 coins. They are all nice designs and well struck every year has a diferant design. Report this Post to the Staff

I know diddly squat about the biology of Aussie marsupials, but I just googled it and the Numbat is not closely related to any current, living species. It is considered to have been more closely related to the now-extinct Thylacine, or Tasmanian tiger. I thought it might be close to the Bilby, but like I said, I know nothing about it.
