Yeah, real spot now for Morgans is little over $21, but will cost you close to $30 almost same as 1 oz bar of .999; guess it depends on how high or low silver spot $ will go... high spot price 1 oz bar is better low silver spot $ then Morgans hold value if silver was to hit $75 oz then no one would pay $75 for a Morgan if silver was to hit $15 oz then someone would still pay $20 for a Morgan
Saw a BU 1900 Morgan today for $45 but passed on it and bought a couple of dozen pre-1965 quarters instead. Most were just circulated bullion coins but a few of them were really nice. Got them at spot, so why not?
ebay has a lot of fractionals. Good place to see what's out there and what they go for. Sometimes you can then find direct sources for what you like for less as well.
I would rather spend the money on the older "classic" 90% silver coin designs like the Mercury dime, Standing Liberty quarter and Walking Liberty half. I feel the best way to hold silver and it is how I do it is to hold the American Silver Eagles for the 1oz size, and these classic older issues for fractional sizes. The premium is too high for fractional sized silver rounds right now and when you sell them you are very lucky if you get melt value for them.
