Charging A Admission Fee At Coin Shows

There are two regular coin shows that I attend; neither one charges admission, nor do they charge for parking (and both venues have paid parking for other events, so it says a lot that the coin shows are free). There is never a shortage of attendees, so I am sure the dealers are happily paying whatever the cost is to keep their tables.

Would it be possible to poll the dealers and get their opinion, or would doing so frighten them off for no reason?

I do not envy you, this decision, and I think you are doing the right thing coming here to discuss it first.

For the record, if either of my shows started charging admission (or for parking), I would still go. I have nothing better to do.

So far the few coin shows that I attend don't charge to get in. I look at it this way. Why should I be charged a fee to spend my own money. I go to buy, the dealers are there to make a profit. If the dealers don't make a profit on us buyers, why are they there show after show?
