Rick said he would only make 1500 on the transaction, but since he melted that BIG bar down an made those 500 coins an priced them at 60 a pop, I think his profit margin may have increased a bit....

He also tried to play the.... "I am business man" card, an not a speculator. Silver could be way down in a year instead of up he claimed, after the guy said you could sit on it a while an make much more. Rick acted liked he would move it all immediately, which they probably will most (like the huge 90% bags of pre 65 silver), but would not be surprised if they stuck those Engelhard 100z in the safe, for safe keeping....

I think that deal by the way Barry is a no brainer, esp if you can afford two of them....

They just put about 200 more of the rounds on ebay. 155 have been sold already.

Im not interested. Lol. Way over spot for a guy on a TV show that may or may not be on TV in 10 years?

Silvercoinboi I would not be surprised if those rounds doubled in value when the old man passes on, if that is what you were making reference to....

Just like Obi Juan, after struck down by Vader he became more powerful then he could have ever imagined and the same is true for fine works of art, if you translate power to value, lol....

I don't see how they are selling at $60 either.

In a couple of years, if the show is not on TV anymore who is going to pay that premium for the coins? If you went to sell it, a buyer would see an old man on a silver coin, and offer you spot.

They say on the their site that 500 were made as a gift to the old man, more were minted for sale to the public.

I'm sure as long as they are selling they'll keep minting them. Smart business move for them. Buying one or more, not so smart.

No big deal if one really likes the old man and decides to purchase just one like Center Pin said, a novelty of sorts tied up in one troy oz.. But yeah no way I would buy them at 60 all day, of some pipe dream hope of selling them all for 200 each one day, but who knows, lol....

I think Pawn Stars has a longer shelf life an will run longer then most shows, as the fact the economy an high cost of living has taken place in the same moment in time with the show....

Many have started watching these shows, an somehow in their own lives attempted to do something similar along their own interests. Be it what they buy an sell an how they do it an where they buy it, via garage sales or storage lockers. With hopes of turning a profit later. And when a human relates to something, they take interest an it holds their attention...

I think the show will last much longer than most shows, there is just something about the show that everyone seems to love. I have personally always loved business, and negotiating which is why I think I like the show so much.

Off topic, but has anyone ever looked at the "GoldSilverPawn" feedback on ebay? Customer Feedback must not be their specialty.

"Item description said it was in working order - it wasn't"

CBN I find it funny that I being a one man show can maintain a WAY stronger feedback then those knuckle heads, lol.....

Chum Lee literally must be in charge of packing an shipping, an you can bet he handled it plenty before getting it sealed up an ready to go, lol....

Funny thing is some of the worst feed-backs on ebay, but they still selling stuff left an right, lol...

Yeah, I am somewhat surprised at their feedback. I am sure most of the sales are from people who just wanted to buy something small, so they can say that they bought something from the "Pawn Stars"

Chumlee is probably the reason half off the stuff is broken.

I had recorded this episode and just got around to watching it last night. I'm surprised that none of you commented on the huge stash of silver coins that this seller brought in, in addition to the bars. The camera panned the bag of dimes and you could see Mercuries in there! When it panned the bag of quarters you could plainly see that it wasn't just a bag of '64s. There were some oldies in there and some clearly had mint marks... Looks like it would have been a blast to look through all these...slowly!

Chumlee was interviewed on a local radio station. He came across as very intelligent was nothing like he's depicted on the show.

Surely the old man an Rick went through those bags with a fine tooth comb looking for numismatic value beyond spot silver....

Rick could barely pick each bag up and minus a whole lot of moving an transporting it (probably been in his safe for 15 or 20 years), their might be a few dozen real gems in those bags law of average would make me think at least, esp if you noticed all the Bens, JFK's, Walker's an Merc's in those bags. What if there were some XF Standing Liberty quarters, lol, you just never know what all was in those bags....
