He doesn't know anything about coins, but he knows that some of his dollar coins are fake.

Even if he is not intentionally selling fakes, it's still a crime to sell counterfeit items, let alone counterfeit U.S. currency. And second of all, he knows darn well he is selling counterfeit coins.

Basically what you are saying is, "Don't take action. Just let someone else potentially be scammed, even though you have the power to possibly put an end to this. Just make it somebody else's problem." Yeah, that's a pretty good idea.

I think it's terrible the guy is selling obviously fake coins. I wouldn't' know how to change that, but I do know that pawn shops get scrutiny by police for obvious reasons. You might lodge a complaint there, citing the magnet test you did.
