Well, that is a fairly low number for first day sales. Of course we don't know exactly what hours it covers. Also, it says that it is updated Monday through Friday so we won't get another update until Monday afternoon. I think that update will be very telling. Will the pace hold or have all of the big orders been placed? Let's keep the game going and put in our guesses for the next update. After guessing almost 40K too high, I'll make a more conservative calculation of 123,456 for Monday's update.

This data is provided for informational purposes only and should not be construed to represent accepted orders or actual sales figures.
I would not be surprised if the final production numbers are FAR different than the figures shown on the website. I know it is the cynic in my but the Mint has nothing to gain by showing high sales figures and everything to gain by underreporting the numbers. And they have a built in disclaimer right there to counter any complaints.

CelticKnot, come on down! You're the next contestant on the Price is Right! Good job! You're an astute observer of the demand for US Silver Eagles. Either that or you're a great guesser, but we'll give you credit for the former. Southsav with close second guess.

Quote: CelticKnot is our winner! He guessed 85,000 and was pretty darn close! Thank you, thank you. Does this mean I win a free set?! Quote: Good job! It definitely was not a scientific guess, but seemed reasonable. Actually I was considering revising it higher when someone reminded me in another thread that there are no ordering limits but decided to stick with the first stab.

For monday ill say 125k. Someone also brought up a good point in another thread.
We know this number is just a guesstimate by the mint, but do we know if this is just number of orders or number of sets. If its just number of orders we could already be looking at a quarter million or more sold

136K for Monday would be my guess. But really I have no clue.

basebal21, it is the number of units sold, not the number of orders placed. That is what the counter says. It is not a guesstimate, it is just not a number that they want you to sue them over if it is not exactly right.

Quote: Well, that is a fairly low number for first day sales. True but there isn't as much reason for a mad dash after these sets because there is no mintage limit. Everyone doesn't have to do a mad rush in fear of missing out.

Using a very scientific methodology based on uniform criteria, substantive precurser information and quantitive ideology. I predict (cough cough, guess) that the number on Monday at 1500 hrs will be 132,812 sets sold.
