regularguy Valued Member United States 187 Posts	Posted 06/09/2012 1:10 pm What are blue and brown Ike's? I saw the man on TV trying to sell a set of 10 Eisenhower dollars that were silver. He made reference to only being able to get some of these in brown and blue packages when produced by the mint. I checked my Red Book and it didn't have much information. Are these Ike's 40% silver or 90%? Any information will be helpful. Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

Silver proof Ikes were sold in a big, overpackaged plastic case inside brown, wood-grain cardboard box. Silver "uncirculated" Ikes were packaged in cellophane in a blue envelope. The bicentennial silver uncirculated and silver proof bicentennial Ikes came in different packaging (bicentennial sets) but the same terminology is used. Report this Post to the Staff

The submission cost + postage and sells fees will eat up any profit motive. If they are beautiful "blue" ikes, that's a different story. Report this Post to the Staff
