During the period that the Statehood Quarters were being made did the San Francisco mint produce any clad proof quarters?

Rest in Peace

Yes. Check the Coin Facts page on this site. It lists them by state and you'll see that some say (clad). The numbers to the right will show you how many proofs were made.

Buddy:

Thanks for the referral to US Coin Facts. But I had checked that source prior to posting the question. I had checked 2009 territory and saw that there there were no silver or clad sets listed. So after I saw your post I checked what it says about the states themselves. It also shows that for 2007 and 2008 no silver or clad proofs are listed.

I have the silver proof sets for 2004 - 2009 and was planning on trying to pick up the earlier sets at the next major coin show in my area. I have no clad proof sets and that is what I am wondering about.

So based on coin fact the question then remains about 2007 through 2009 were clad proof coins made by the mint. I do believe they were created so now I'm coin to have to find the answer somewhere else. Not trying to be a wise acre.

Yes... and I Have all them and most of them you can get for three to five dollars a set with an exception of 2008 which goes for around 35 dollars.

Missy_2012 thanks for the price information on the clad proofs. I wonder why the price of the 2008 is so high. Low mintage?

I really don't know but before my father passed I remember him talking about the price gouging on that set. If you go on ebay you will see sellers cant keep them. All the series are really beautiful coins and well worth having.
Rest in Peace

It looks like the coin facts page needs an update!

Another place to check is the Numismedia Fair Market Value site. It lists the prices that dealers are getting. There is even a section for mint sets.

Good luck with your collection. Post again after the coin show and let us know what you found.

Just to be sure you have it.
Yes there were S clad proof quarters minted every year of
the State Quarter program and since .. well .. and before.

Since 1999 there were both a clad proof set (cent through dollar) and a clad proof quarters only set (five coin set,six for 2009).

The 2008 coins were stopped before the end of scheduled production run, so they have a little lower mintage, and many collectors that order toward the end of year did not get their sets. So the after market price went up.

I hope this info helps

Red Book is a good source to find basic coin information.
