The purpose is to have fun.

Just trying to have a little humor, gaw lee...

To be honest, I'm not looking for any feedback. Just thought it would be cool to share this with the community. My purpose was to brighten a fellow numismatist's day with a little nature photography.

Sorry, maybe it belongs in the photography forum.

This might be a fruity question about that banana slug, but do you spot these slugs every day or just half that amount of time?

We like to have fun!

Thanks for the interesting pic, and ... believe it or not ... some good memories!

Am I off my rocker?!

Not really, we have a gray looking version of this fellow here in southern PA. They seem to love it under mobile homes. When I lived in one (a mobile home - not a slug) many years ago they (slugs - not mobile homes) were always all over under it. When my brother came to visit me once, we watched a National Geographic special where they were making it a point to emphasize that as the camera was entering a specific cave, this was the very first time ANY man had been in this cave to view the native snakes there for several hundred years.

We both got a laugh at how the snakes in that not-entered-by-anyone-for-several-hundred-years cave had been eager to show their new guest into the cave how congenial they could be. They had rigged up an electric lighting system on tripods so when the first man ever to be in there for several hundred years got to the main chamber, the lights were there to make it convenient for him to film them.

So my brother and I had a blast making a mock "National Geographic" documentary on the (totally fictitious name) "Brickmouth 12 1/2 spotted Gray Slug." We found our own cave (under my mobile home) and were pleasantly surprised to find the slugs had also been handy enough to install a lighting system for us.

I thought they fired slugs from guns. This one must have survived the event, without damage.

It was his pocket piece anyway. Does a minute on the ground do any harm?

That is a HUGE slug. Looks like it ate all the others.

Best bit is it actually sort of looks like a mouldy banana

Wow, that is a great looking West Coast slug ... however, I find that the black ones are by far the best-eatin'!!

I agree the large black ones are great Steve, but you really should try pre-injecting your mustard into them before putting them in the bun. It tends to make the mustard flavour/or more noticeable in every bite.
