On the Mint page says: The Lotus Snake Mintage is 28888. But the actual quantity sold is only 18271.
Mint melted over 10000 of this coin.
Is this true?

I think it is still early as it is still 2013. I think you would have to wait till 2014 to see the 2013 numbers?

@Lostwords,
I read this info on the lasted Mint annual report. So you mean this number might change in the next year annual report?

Quote: I read this info on the lasted Mint annual report. So you mean this number might change in the next year annual report? Someone might want to verify that but as far as I understand, the last annual report would probably only cover the sales till December of 2012. As far as I can remember, Snake coins are still plenty on the mint site. For example, the next annual report for the horse coins, unless it miraculously sold all of them out before end of the year, chances are not all the horse coins are sold out as the horse coins are just being release now. I don't know the drop end day for the mint to decide to have enough of it and let melt the rest. Look at the baseball coins, the last time I went to the mint boutique, they are still there. Actually, I asked the folks there if they sold any of those baseball coins and the answer is maybe one or 2 since it released.

how much is the 4 gold lunar coin with the case goes for? I would assume at least 688.88 x 4 = 2755.52? Is there a demand for the gold collection?

Nice!
But 2 more coins, your box is full. You need another box for the rest od the series. :)

No, BiBo It looks like , SilverBug has the Red one too, just meanwhile put the Round and Scalloped coins to the same one box.
IMO, each and every coin from the scalloped series shows the best design from all Zodiac world coins. I think, it because of de-centralization of the Zodiac character and "soft" shapes.

Hi! I need some help here. English is not my first language so, maybe, I'm missing something... I'm interested in getting a Silver Lunar Rabbit Coin. I found this auction where it is sold for a good price but the description doesn't seem clear... What is confusing me is the fact that, from the Mint website, the finish of this coin should be "proof"! http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-canada...t_418wt_1161So, I asked the seller this question (see below) and here is what he answered. Hi,
What do you mean exactly by "not proof"? Is it a fake coin?
And why does it have a "different coa got chinese"? There is a different COA in China that is different from the one we have in Canada? The coa on your photo looks a lot like the coa we have in Canada...
Thanks for the clarification!proof is proof
unc is unc not proof not mean fake ok?
please google it u will know the difference or check NGC website
if grade coins pf is proof ms is unc(not proof)Should I just give up or is there something I'm missing? Were there ever any fake Silver Lunar Rabbit in circulation?

@thecurse9
Give up with this listing. Seems, that seller tries to be honest, and describes the item exactly as it is:
not proof but BU (?) COA inside in Chinese
except this, he or she not completely educated here.
In bottom line, the coin could be genuine, but two facts directly raise the suspects: small picture low price.
IMO - copy (fake, replica).
Search for this coin in the range of $180-$250, where the seller from Canada / US (Europe: UK,Germany, Poland also possible)
***Added: 10 available? Even assuming that it "special version for Asian market" - I would stay away from it.
