2006 Penny Confusion - Coin Community Forum

4228 New Member Canada 23 Posts	Posted 06/21/2012 2:58 pm Hi, I am feeling super confused about which is worthwhile and which one isn't. I have 4 2006 Pennies in front of me. 2 have RCMP logo and are magnetic. The other 2 have no RCMP logo or p and are not magnetic. Are any of these 4 Pennies with holding into or do I toss them back into my change purse? All responses are appreciated, please keep answer short and simple because the varieties on this year seems to be too difficult for me to grasp! ;-) Thnx Report this Post to the Staff

folcan99 Valued Member Canada 235 Posts	Posted 06/21/2012 6:13 pm Those pennies are common. What you need to look for are No Logo No P magnetic or a P non magnetic. The P non magnetic is the rarest which fetched over $2,000.00 I believe. Report this Post to the Staff

You want to look for: 2006P Magnetic (Scarce in Circulation)- I have found 3 in circulation since October 2009. 2006P Non-Magnetic (Rarest)- I have not found one as of yet. I remain on the hunt for it. Finding one would be like winning the lotto for a Coin Roll Hunter. 2006 No P No Logo Magnetic (Rare)- I personally have had decent luck finding these in circulation and have managed to pull 11 since October 2009. I have sorted through many boxes of cents to get them. I average around 100 boxes of cents a year. I try to do 2 boxes of cents a week along with 2-4 boxes of nickels. Common 2006 coins are the Logo Magnetic and Non-Magnetic as well as the 2006 No Logo Non-Magnetic. Report this Post to the Staff
