Found this in my change a couple of years ago. I almost ignored it thinking it was a newer penny because of the luster left on it (the scan doesn't do it justice). I was surprised when I flipped it over and saw King George VI. I've come across much older coins in my change but not in such nice condition for their age.

I've never though to look for a "Birthday Note". Thanks for sharing, I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for one!

JimmyD, It may be worth posting your note under "the birthday note thread" just in case someone needs that particular birthday.

Two days ago, I got my third Macklem/Carney $5 polymer bill at work. I was just about to ask my manager if I could buy it when I received another, except in UNC condition. That brings the total found up to 4. They certainly aren't rare anymore, but will become much less common eventually.

It was a long time for this second one , the last one I found was in 1979 hunting new rolls for double dates.
