I saw the coloured flag quarters a lot in circulation a while ago, but I saw my first one in months recently. I have not yet seen coloured poppies. I'll try asking my bank about it.

Today I finally found my first poppy quarter in my cash register, but forgot to pick it up. Oh well. However, I'm pretty excited about getting today's find. My new lowest note, and it looks like AU.

My Brother in law found a nice condition (au) 1946 dime in change at a convenience store. He isn't a collector but identified by the ringing sound it made when dropped onto the counter. Was lucky enough to receive it from him. May send it off one day to ICCS for grading. Another interesting find was a 2004 sealed mint roll of poppy quarters, found by a friend in the till of a register at his workplace. We bought it at face value and will sell or trade it one day. Lastly, I found a 1991 quarter in circulation in1993. Something very special about finding these items in circulation - I am always on the lookout!

I got a 1992 New Brunswick quarter earlier this week. The first time I've found any of those 1992 series quarters in change. I've never even found one roll hunting.
Also, a 2015 toonie from a friend's loose change. Toonies seem to come very slowly for me.

I got my first 2016 coins. 2 shiny dimes from the campus dining hall. It's just mid-February, definitely earlier than I expected.

Found this 1999P quarter in change about 15 years ago. Not sure if it was a test coin or cut from a set back then. A bit beet up and very odd to find this in circulation.

Not exactly circulation find. But a pawn customer was scrapping a silver chain with some coins on it. Pawn shop clerk didn't want the coins, only the chain. So I was able to get the coins for free - not much interest in Canadian coins here in Texas, especially with holes drilled into them. (I think he didn't know there was silver in some of them!) They're all holed (two each); there were steel rings in each hole for the chain to pass through, I've removed those due to a bit of rust on several of them. Thought my north-of-the-border numismatic friends might enjoy this little group of Holey Canadians. :) 1930, 1931 - 5 cents 1941 - 10 cents 1938 - 25 cents 1941 - 50 cents
