You should have really started a new thread for this, otherwise answers
to your question are going to intermingle with Circulation Finds.
But in answer to your question, yes, there are Canadian Silver Coins
up to 1kilo (32.151 troy oz.)

Hey Braat I looked at your quarter from a metal fabrication point of view which I can speak with confidence, I am not that confident about (as ace said) planchet flaws, so please if nothing else protect the coin until u get a definitive answer.

I had posted that I picked up 7 rolls of 1973 quarters. Well after going through them all. LB 0 SB 279 with one 1978 small denticles . which leads me to think they have been sorted. I did get one 73 that is uncirculated.

3 digit repeater from an ATM machine cash withdrawal. Yes it has folds in it.

This one showed up in the cash at my wife's work today, the first one I've seen, still in decent shape. She's always on the lookout for a coin I mAy not have.

Just got this in my change today. Never thought I
would ever see one again especially with the ARP.
Second hard to get in circulation coin I have found
in the last two weeks.

Great finds! The ARP sure makes it harder and harder every day to get quality older coinage.

Here are some finds from work. The dimes from '62 and '67 were found a while ago the same day in two different cash registers, while the rest was from today. The 1967 looks toned to me, which is a first. An older gentleman turned over the 1964, which is the second best silver dime I've received.

Fun find (spent already) - this is what an AG/G polymer note looks like:

crjenkins, I don't see many of those in
circ, I bought a five pack from the mint hoping for a
bunch of die cracks, sadly mine are from fresh dies.

JimmyD, nice nickel, liking the '67s and a
rarity these days, nice score from change.

Shoplier really nice dimes from circ,
silver is not an everyday thing these days, and nice
repeater and radar notes.

Here is a Mountie Quarter I got in change, stopped at a
food truck (Big Hymies, love the name) for lunch (best
donair fries I ever had) and got this back in change. I
was looking at the change and the guy asked if he gave me
the right amount, I said yes, no problem. As a coin
collector I always look right away and it makes some
retailers wonder. Found the Mountie and was boring my
wife with the Large and Small Bust varieties and went to
tip the guy after eating and was worried about whether I
gave back the Mountie. I asked him and he said, I
already looked, it is a small head, you still have it. I
put it in the back pocket as I always do with precious
cargo. I said your a coin guy eh, we chatted about what
he got in change lately. Coin people.

All of these were found in my change over the years! I still can't believe I found a 1964 penny in mint state.

Nice finds, braat. The colourized coins just don't seem to be common on the west coast in any circulated shape.I only collect out of pocket change now and rely on my travels to the east to find them.Still looking for the plain and green buffalo, big poppy and flag.
