Is this one a keeper?

On a side note, I never looked at my currency (just looked at coins) until I started reading this section on CCF. Now I need to go find more room so start saving notes...

Thanks!

IMHO, I would hang onto it for awhile but the condition seems to be a little low and the SN is a little high.

yes it is a keeper as it is from a run of 640,000 notes which is a smaller run.

ckrakowski is right. It's from a shorter run printed in September of 2008. Personally, I would keep it.

That's the key star for 2006 5's and has been rather elusive to find. Even in that condition it's worth a premium.

Nice find.

IG (Chicago) stars for that series are very common - I'd say a spender in this grade.

I also thought it was a low serial number. Agreeing with ckrakowski it is from the first run less than 630,000
Again I save all star notes so to me its a keeper and worth at least $5

It wouldn't hurt to keep it.

I always thought the 2006 $5 IE* note was the toughest Star to find.

I misread this (above) as IG, but still don't believe it's a keeper in this rumpled condition.

Stever - I didn't realize there was an IE star for the '06 $5 notes.

Yeah buddy. A small run of 640,000 star notes printed in September 2011. These were the last notes printed for the entire 2006 series Fives. I remember it taking me three years to find a pair in Gem.
