When I was filling my Lincoln album, I'd put a shield cent in the slot of coins I had ordered but not yet received. This kept me from accidentally buying the same coin twice. Finally found something to use for large cents. A Mexican 20 centavo!

Great idea, you might even getting to liking that large copper Mexican 20c and start a set of those down the road.
