Coinstar For American Silver, Necessary?

In my opinion, US silver coins have white rims whereas other copper-nickle clads have yellowish rims. Besides that, does CoinStar sort copper of Pre-1996 Canadian pennies or Pre-1982 American pennies? Thank you Report this Post to the Staff

I've never used it because of that, plus the prying eyes of the public behind your back. Why not just coin hunt the old-fashioned way? You may have Coinstar confused with the Ryedale sorter. Steele Pillar of the Community United States 1119 Posts	Posted 07/28/2012 11:11 pm Coinstar does not sort coins for you and it will take coppper and zinc pennies and also silver quarters and half dollars. it sometimws does not take silver dimes but run it through enough times and it will take them too.
