Oncle Kim, Thanks for your kind words! The process begins by making sure I remove all dust by cleaning the scanner platen and cover. I wear chirurgical gloves during the entire process.
I carefully open the capsule and QUICKLY place the coin on the platen and GENTLY close the cover. I scan the coin at about 2000 dpi (I later re-size). One thing: disable ALL scanner automatic imaging options. The trick is to get the RAW scan and post-process using a better software. I recommend GIMP (free).
After scanning, there is always the need to rotate, crop and I also put my watermark.
