1917 Type II Standing Liberty - What Do You Think? (Raw)

oih82w8 Pillar of the Community United States 7840 Posts	Posted 08/13/2012 11:32 am I am looking at this 1917 Type II SLQ and would like to hear opinions for the CCF. I had one, but I sold it, now I am getting tired of looking at the "empty spot". Is that a wear spot on the right breast? I don't like buying "raw" coins anymore, but this one sure is pretty. I am not sure by these images if it qualifies for the FH designation, although I can see the "ear hole", can't make out the three separate leaves. johnny54321 Rest in Peace United States 4849 Posts	Posted 08/13/2012 11:42 am Occassionally, TPGs consider stuff like that "cabinet friction", and still give it an MS grade. But it probably really is an AU-58. I dont see any chance of it going lower. It may have been mildly dipped at one point, but it is a very attractive coin with nice luster that I would expect to get a TPG grade! I am hoping that the scratches by the lower middle reverse star are insignificant in hand. Report this Post to the Staff

Every time I see an SLQ in this state I just wish they had made a design that wore better. These is such a gorgeous design. Report this Post to the Staff
