Quote: While I am certainly not privy to everything that you guys see, after participating on other forums (e.g., Coin Talk), I find this statement somewhat hard to believe. My impression is that there is a pretty decent and civil crowd north of the border. Maybe it has something to do with our 5% beer...
Like anywhere else, the overwhelming majority of you - denizens of the Canadian forums, regardless of nationality - are just as well-spoken as any other member of the community. It's a plain fact, though, that the Canadian subforums account for both 7% of CCF's usage (by total posts in threads), and somewhere around half of our complaints concerning individual posters. Perhaps that's because some of you are too quick to complain, but the same attitudes exist elsewhere in the community.
I can't explain it, and I'm not going to hypothesize. That would be to draw generalities where none are appropriate. But the fact is, we spend a disproportionate amount of time discussing what to do with the few outliers among you, and we're tiring of it.
Don't forget, we hold this place to a far higher standard than CT, and I freely admit that place isn't too bad at all. But by deliberate nature we cater to the newer and younger collector, and as a result this place will adhere to a stricter standard of public comport than any other.
Sigh, if there was hockey, you would get silent bliss from us Canucks... Thanks for taking the time to explain and share your frustrations.

Hello, we have the Shark coins on the way from mint, we will receive them on Monday and those will be promptly shipped same or at last next day. Thank you all for your patience.
Another thing that some people may not be aware of is the exchange rates Fluctuate. I had a $200 (NZ$) order reversed from NZ as a matter of fact, that went in my favour. When I purchased the item, The exchange to Canadian funds was $165 (roughly) when the money was put back onto my credit card, the Canadian dollar had appreciated a few points, and the credit was over $170. This was a while back, but the same could hold true between Euro's and the ups and downs of the US currency. Maybe no cancellation fee was even put onto Neil's CC, but the difference caused by the fluctuating USD vs Euro. That would be my first bet.
Hey, I happen to stumble upon this video after trying to search for some snake coins. After all the delays and correction for the great white shark coin, this video makes me glad that I purchased this. Even happier to know that Powercoin will receive them Monday and ship them out soon. =)
I have just read this entire thread and I feel for Antonello. It is certainly not his fault that the lazy buggers the other side of the Tasman can't deliver their coins on time. He answered every one's concerns in a courteous and friendly manner and should be congratulated for his honesty and decorum. I know it is frustrating having to wait for a coin you really want but shooting the messenger will not get the coin to anyone any faster. I have never done business with Power Coin but after reading Antonello's posts I will use this company if I need a specific coin in the future Good on ya Antonello, You stood by your guns and came out smelling like roses. Just goes to show that a good attitude will get you everywhere even in tough times

Dcadon you would lose that bet.
If you read my post I was charged a cancellation fee plus TWO foreign transaction fees on my CC. One on the purchase, and one on the reversal. I'm in the US and lost money both times on the exchange. Powercoin even admitted to charging cancellation fees.
I think some of you need to reread page 1 with numerous CCF members immediately voicing their complaints about this company, and the subsequent answers. If you had a good experience with them, that's fine. That doesn't take away from the bad experiences that were posted by other CCF members. Myself and others have chosen to never do business with them again. You can disregard what others have voiced, it is up to you.
