Broseph, it can't hurt to ask.

Also, how bad are these scratches? Right after I started CCF, someone purchased--for more than face value--an Ike that was so worn that Ike looked like a troglodyte (I'm serious--all you could see was a big protruding forehead, nose, and chin and this sunken dent of an eye) and no date could be seen. They liked it for its character. There's no shame in being honest without being denigrating: "This coin is in EF/XF condition. With no major flaws and a moderate amount of wear, it'll be a great addition to your circulating Ikes set!" If someone has keyed the coins, they're probably worth face. If they have circulation scratches, well, loads of people collect circulating sets, and would be happy to take them off your hands. Remember, if you sell them for even $1.01 + shipping each, you've still made a profit.

yeah, I'll go through the pile again, some of them weren't that bad. I guess it's worth a shot!
