Never could find out about that raised thing that appears to be a almost second rim. Mostly visable on the fight side. And it's Penny, not pennie. It is oodd though that when you say more than one it goes from penny to pennies. However, since both are rather incorrect, makes little difference. It's really Cent. And did you notice the shadow of his profile on the right side of his face? Might be his Ghost trying to get off that coin. Been on there for a long time and that gets old. AND did you notice the letters of Liberty are all up and down as if drunk? I and b too high. Might be from someone at the Mint having to many of those Martini's at lunch.

Looks like a plain, old cent with a die break in the 9....not worth any premium.

From what I understand, the ring is caused by Die Deterioration. The 9 has a die chip and I don't see anything under LIBERTY. John1

Trueth, get a small, wide drinking tumbler (look it up--these are different from drinking glasses), and put a single sheet of white copy paper in a ring around the inside. Cut it down to size. Then lay your camera on top, facing into the tumbler with the coin inside. This is how I take my pictures, and they usually turn out quite well.
