It's a coins from Elis, Olympia (107 th Olympiad, 352 BC I think ?). Supposedly a silver stater ?
You have the weight ? I wouldn't bet my life on it's authenticity...

Thinking about the material, I remembered to have a silver polish cloth and found out that I am able to polish it a bit to become silver shiny. The coin seems to be harder than I would imagine lead to be. I cannot bend it using the force of my fingers or my teeth. I belief it not to be a replica The coin weighs about 9g and the diameter is about 2.4cm and it is roughly between 2-4mm thick.

The weight is about 3g below what it should be, quite significant IMHO. Did not see a pefect match among genuine coins (eagle with head reverted), but here's one that is very similar : http://www.acsearch.info/record.html?id=67219The overall softness/fuzzyness of the details is, also, a very bad sign...

I hope it is a replica. Polishing with a silver polish cloth will turn a genuine $1000 coin into a genuine $100 coin. I won't even address biting damage. On the other hand polishing a fake does no harm whatsoever. I agree with Dionysos' caution.

I think that trace is quite hot. You are right to be more cautious with the coin. I agree, that the fuzzyness of some details shows that this coin is not in a very good shape. When I was a young child I often visited Greek and loved it. One day I found a coin on the ground where we had parked our car. I always kept it as my little treasure. Now I am 43 years old and would like to discover more about that coin.If I remember it correctly, I found the coin on a parking spot somewhere on the Peloponnese or the Greek mainland. Yet, it could have also been on one of the islands. I was just a small boy. Here is what I found: http://www.cngcoins.com/Coin.aspx?CoinID=169296 It is also very similar and yet not the same. Where can I find the exact same coin? Maybe it is quite rare? What do you think? What to do with it the best? Thanks for helping me. Warmest, Borris

to the community I know very little about Greek coins, but my first impression is that this coin is not real. The weight is off as mentioned by Dionysos and the overall appearance just doesn't look right to me.
