My focus are coins and antique 14th to 16th century Ming Dynasty Porcelain Blue and White.
During antique hunting, I sometime also buy Yuan, Ching, jewelries (incl precious stones), its box and others Chinese antique stuff. Only the exceptional qualities since I sometimes couldn't pass it if the price is right. But my passion is just those two.

sel_69l, too bad you soo far away from me. I am thinking to recut my Pink Saphire.

I also collect antique firearms, anything pre 1900, but lately it's been antique 2mm burloque pistols (about an inch and a half long) there the smallest working pistols in the world, they shoot both a 2mm lead ball as well as have a flare attachment for launching rescue flares. I'm also very into archery, shooting (guns), hunting and fishing... Actually anything outdoors really... Hiking, rock climbing, swimming/jumping cliffs, geotracking, camping and LOVE spending time on horseback, wether in the back yard or shows..
I bought a metal detector about 5 years or so ago (actually bought it because a small pistol fell out of the holster in brush while hunting, so I marked the area, drove to dicks sporting goods, bought the detector and found the gun in all of 5 mins :) but now that my coin hobby has blown wide open and I live in rural western mass I dug it out of storage (just a cheaper Bounty hunter 2, but hey, it works pretty good) and have a few cellar holes WAY out in the middle of nowhere I'm going to go check, I don't believe anyone has as there a good mile from any road, yet again I stumbled across them while hunting & marked them in the GPS last fall.

My other hobby is photography, mainly specialising in family/children's portraits at the moment. I'm terrible with coin photography.

I'd love to get another detector. Had one in the early '80s but it was too hard on batteries - no recharcheables back then....and nowhere near as good as the modern ones are
Currently, I'm into Tuckfields bird cards from the packs of tea, and weetbix cards also: stuff I had as a kid then got rid of - now trying to collect them all again

Also am into the history and designs of Australian and New Zealand playing cards, though I've sold most of them off, thanks to getting into coins once again!!

metal detecting is all dependent on where you live. I saw a thread from a guy in hawaii who posted pictures of his finds. He probably had 100,000 worth of stuff. lots of Rolex watches and diamond rings, gold, tons of stuff

As long as he didn't bury it first like that guy in California(Florida?) back in the 1990's.

I also do metal detecting. Good fun. Have found 57 cents worth of coins so far! I have spent loads of hours pulling nails / screws out of my back garden.
I have also done some kids playgrounds to remove the metal rubbish from them. There is a definite skill to using the MD which I think only is learnt through a LOT of practice. A pinpointer helps loads and I would consider buying a spare if I was going to a remote location.
Other hobbies include Juggling, Cooking, Running, Archery, Gardening, Chickens...

I facet gemstones. Aquamarine. Tourmaline. Amethyst. Peridot. Whatever I can get my hand's on that is not too cost prohibitive. From High Quality to Very Low End. It is an expensive hobby just like coin collecting. Hmm. I see a trend here.
