I don't collect coins in sets. Been there, done that.
I acquire each coin, judged on it's individual merits against the price, and can come from anywhere across the whole range of numismatics from achaic ancient to modern.
My collection is an expression of the history of numismatics generally. Such a collection needs the support of a good numismatic reference library, and that library has been built as the collection has grown.

Only set I currently have going is BU Franklins. Completed the Silver Roosevelts and War Merc. Been considering a Peace dollar set. If silver gets up to where I'm not buying as much bullion, I'll get started on it.

Although my 7070 is completely filled, I am always working on upgrading the individual coins within it.
Other than that, these days I'm concentrating on stacking silver and gold for investment purposes.

Currently working on an XF or higher Indian Head cent collection. Have all of the commons already. I also really love Civil War tokens. Too many for a complete collection, but adding as many as the ol' budget allows

Working on all denominations and all types of US coins in Albums. With each Album of the same type in a higher grade than other ones. So far only one Album of Large Cents though. All other Albums have many duplicates.

Condor, how long have you been collecting? Did you inherit some of these or did you start on your own? That is an impressive list.

I now fall into Sel's camp and am not doing sets anymore!
Maybe I need a couple more US banknotes (I am missing a Hawaii set of notes, a woodchopper and a couple of 1917 $1 and $2 but I am in no hurry for them really)
Modern coins I will just collect what I can to keep my British collection up to date.
From now on every purchase I make I will be looking to aquire special coins relating to history...I will try to put a collection of mainly silver coins together as and when I can as part of a long term stratergy to get a representation of the ancient world.

Pretty much you name it for me when it comes to 1900's - present U.S. coinage in both circulated and uncirculated/proof condition sets. Currently close on a number but have only completed the Franklin circ set.

Currently working on Lincoln Cents, 1909-Current. Once I get the commons squared away, will move on to nickels and dimes. Mercury dimes are my favorite coins, so I'll collect them as well.

My Wife and I are currently working on several sets. 7070 1st date 7070 last date 7070 AU or better any date 8100 XF or better 8113 8133 8166 MS
Its all a challenge but we love it, together. I personally am also working on Lincoln wheat and memorial rolls with the hope of having a roll of every year and mm minus major keys of course.
Just my 2 cents I am giving back for enjoying the reading of the forums.
