Yes, all of the copper pennies are being removed by me, I have an operational facility located on Mars where my fellow martians receives and sort through all of the pennies for copper from the boxes that I send them via Space Mail. The copper is then traded on Mars for Space Money and I just simply earn a nice slice of commission :)

mfhorn,
From a fellow Kentucky roll searcher that also puts away all of the copper I can find, I can tell you I am seeing the same thing. I'm to the point that I only will purchase CWR's and I totally avoid Brinks shrinkwrapped rolls. Garda is a little better, but you get too many rolls of solid 2012's. Harris and String are better, but those two only serve smaller banks that are more reluctant to give out rolls to non-customers. And I already have accounts with five banks; don't need to open up any more!

So now the truth comes out; why we sent Curiosity to the Red Planet I forgot to mention , that before the Zinc box, I had several rolls of solid copper that were also Brinks rolled. I always ask for CWR cents, but take anything when I'm desperate. I believe if the Big Boys are hoarding copper, it won't take as long as we might think to thin the copper out

One of the reasons I quit roll hunting was because my success rate went from 22% to 0 in a week, the rolls I was getting were all marked "Loomis"
I'm thinking of hitting one of the local banks soon for a box but if I get skunked there I'm out for good....

Don't be discouraged, Night Hawk. I just searched my latest acquisition of $35 worth and didn't find a single one minted before the year 2000! Not one single cent! And I got them at 2 different banks, too. I must have just got into a store's deposit bag, or something. I'm going to try a little further afield and try to get away from the bigger centers and see if my luck improves. There's still too many stories of great finds happening to give up now...

in canada anyways the mint has an alloy recovery program. nickel and copper. cant see why the US mint wouldnt do the same considering they have 10x-100x times as many pennies in circulation.

its not worth it for the government to remove copper pennies because they would have to replace them with new ones. Now if they decided to abolish the penny, well thats when they might start removing the copper pennies to melt them.

I have not gotten a single copper cent from Brinks rolls in at least six months. I do customer rolls only anymore.

Definitely !! I have searched rolls since before there were zinc pennies. And the last time was about 2 years ago and I saw my copper percentage had dropped to about 22% back then. Hey they have to be going somewhere

This theory just got logic'D!
