I've been collecting allot of silver dollars and I've been keeping them in capsules. However due to saftey deposit box storage constraints I put them in two silver dollar tubes. I decided I don't like that option either.
So I just ordered a compact album to put the coins in. Now the coins have to be in something besides the plastic pages. The obvious choice would be cardboard flips. However I'm concerned that the cardboard will react to the silver in the coin.
Is this a valid concearn? Are their better options?
I think as long as you purchase the flips with mylar covering the cardboard it should be fine. The cardboard should not be touching the coins directly. It wouldn't hurt to add a dessicant in there just in case too.
