Trying to find a Dansco 7070 album for my grandsons "Type Coin" collection. Seems its been discontinued. All I can find is the empty folders. One guy had one at 40.00 on ebay but that's a little high. I wanted the Dansco line because I have five others in use and they are nice albums. Tried Wizard and 4 or 5 others to no avail. Maybe you guys can help or give me an alternate album name. I'll even consider a used one if I can find it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Dansco is supposed to be revising the 7070, so everyone just about is sold out until the new one ships

I'm working on a Dansco 7070 without the album due to the same reasons. I just copied the list of what is in the Dansco and put it in PowerPoint...
Once Dansco releases the new 7070 I'll buy it as it wont cost $40, which is a lot for a young numismatist...

Any idea when the new one is supposed to come out? I was actually considering getting one myself and found it odd that one does seem hard to come by, now I know why

Good information. Wizard had the old 7070 price at 23.99 but out of stock. So I guess thats the going ballpark price. What could they be revising? Maybe I should just get the album cover and buy individual pages because I dont need pages for gold or bullion coins. Will wait to see what the new album contains in the way of pages. Thanks again to CCF and its members for the info. Most vendors would have taken my order and left me wondering why I didnt receive the product.

Till next post, Thanks

According to one press release I saw from Dansco, it's due out in mid 2010. Frankly, I think it's going to be late.

Was the 2010 a typo or are they really that far behind? Unless theyre really overhauling the whole thing I cant imagine a change or addition would be that time consuming

No typo, first I heard about the revision was early 2010, saying the new one would be out by mid year.

I would go with the Intercept Shield Type Set. I just bought one. More spots for all the newer coins like the 2004-2006 nickels, bicentennial pennies, 4 spots for half dollar commemoratives, State Quarters, 2009 quarter, etc.. A lot better in my opinion plus it comes with a slip cover included. I am totally digging mine compared to my old dansco album

I have seen the intercept shield albums and there are a few things I like about them over the Dansco. One is the way they have slots cut out where you can grab the end of the slider windows instead of putting pressure where a coin would fit (the only cutout on the page) to slide it out and the slip cover comes with each album. The one thing I don't like about it is the color and I don't care about all those modern coins and I actually picked the 7070 album because I could make it a 19th-20th century set (I wanted nothing newer than 2000 in there) instead of a never ending type set. Of course I wouldn't want one of the newer 7070 albums they are making right now if they are adding all the slots that I have heard they were either so I don't know which one I would pick myself between the two after the new 7070 comes out. I guess you could take the last page out of the Intercept Shield album and add the gold page in its place but you would lose the Bicentennial coins, ASE, Commem Dollar, and the State Quarter if you did it that way

I have the Intercept Type set also. I believe I bought it from Wizard. I am very happy with it, I was not going to keep waiting for Dansco with no word on when they will be ready. They are losing out.

Solved my problem. Went to Valley Coin and found out they had all the five loose pages for the 7070 I needed and the price added up to $20. Dont need the gold page. Since I have an empty Dansco binder from my Jeffersons Ill just cover up the name on front and use that. I'm also buying the 7070 type set slipcover for the album so who will notice. Valley assured me they had all 5 pages in stock but I've been told that before. Waiting for an email that says page not in stock. Hopefully it wont happen. Looked for Intercept Shield albums but could not find the Type Coin album.

Thanks for all your input.
