Well I'm sure that I got one.......

Can you give hints related to some certain features of the other coins, besides the horned one?

Also, are any of the coins Half Dimes or Twenty Cent Pieces?

do we have to guess dates, or just the 3 correct denominations/ coin types?

I already have the dime, BenByfield.
No Mercs, No Franks, No Walking halves.
I traded in a bunch of Walkers to get what I got. And a few Franks.
Hint: Matthew likes them old and honest.
A hundred year old coin that looks honest is something to be bought.
'cept for the one which is only 90+ years old.

I was going to ask for the dates, but, this seems to be stumping you all.
YES, one was a Half Dime!
A Twenty Cent Piece? My pocket book can't afford one yet.
Note to "Hate to Wait" ... OLDER.
Oh, US coins. Forgot to mention that.

Is no one going to pick up on the clue, "older than 1930?"

Is the horned one dated from 1815-1820?

Is one of them perhaps a dime?

Is the half-dime a seated Liberty?

So I take it that we dont have to mention dates?

perfessor got one correct.
jdsvis18 got two correct.
tzarmarko got two correct. Yes, you have the correct date range.

Ok, no dates needed. However, two of the three coins
that I got are needed by type collectors and represent
the most popular and affordable examples.

If this game is problematic for you, you should see the poor players in the "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" contest. They are all over the map with guesses.

Ok, OK! I bought a Seated Liberty half dime.
Which one?
The winner will be declared upon listing the three coins with, optionally, a reasonable
explanation of why I got them.
Let me scan that Half Dime now.

Okay, I'll try to make a guess based on most of the previous ones... hope it won't be that one wrong answer a hair from correct that makes someone else win by that hair. Admittedly if it is correct (which doesn't seem too unlikely) you would have the "enjoyment" of trying to send an envelope to Moscow, Russia (Admittedly I already have a Barber dime - jeffrose sent me one this summer.)

You bought:
an 1917 Type 1 SLQ (probably Philly);
an 1837 Seated Liberty half dime (so no stars on it);
and the "horned" is a Capped Bust half dollar from between 1815-1820 (it appears I don't have to put what particular one to win, but from my cursory googling it seems that if I'm correct it's one of the 1819/8 overdates... probably Small 9)

In that case I am going to say a SLQ, a Capped Bust Dime, and a Seated Liberty half dime. I bet they all look wonderful. I'm guessing you were either upgrading or getting close to finishing a 7070 set?

Can I change my answer? Apparently I got the wrong half
(If it's still correct despite being the "wrong half" (still same type and period), then cool.) I'll tell what the "correct" half is in the next line as a spoiler anyway.)
it's an 1818/7... stupid me, and smart Google

I got it, here it is:
You got a 1818/7 overdated for a capped bust half, lettered edge.
You got a Seated Liberty half dime with stars on obv.
Finally, you got a Seated Liberty dime with united states of America on obv.
