Thanks for the link.
I've put a bid on it - on the family, not the single.
Now I remember, that I seen those before, but some sellers put the "flat" black'n'white picture, that made me believe, that the coin is just painted one.
According to the COA - the coins were minted in the Germany mint, so this explains, how Belarus has nice NCLT coins.

I am not sure if a lot of the younger members here like me have seen a large cent in person. If it were not for you to point out, I would have never found out

@tocoins: Waaaaay back in 2011, there was a set celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 1911 non-issued dollar. That had a large cent. ;)

That was a fast sell-out too, but didn't generate as much anger and panic as this one.

Thanks dialog_gvf! I actually like the old design much better. Speaking of design, maybe it's just me, I don't like how shiny the new loonies toonies are. They look unreal in a negative way when they're new, and way uglier than the old ones when they get tarnished.

The "Special Edition Proof Set - 100th Anniversary of the 1911 Silver Dollar" also nice to have, but it different with it's approach:
while commemorating only the 1911 Silver Dollar, it has in addition all others denominations. And it is not .999 silver, that also narrows it's target group.
The current set includes 5 penny coins only, with the the clear and "solid" .999 silver.
I forgot another factor:
The 1911-2011 Silver Dollar was issued also in separate (wasn't popular and still available for issue price with small premium), so probably it brought satisfaction to some collectors, and they preferred to by it and not whole set.

I think some of us are hoping for a gold penny with identical diameter to the small cent, reading the description of the 1/25 oz fine gold penny again makes me think it's not going to happen. It says 'The only tribute penny in gold!'. If some of you are still sitting on the fence, maybe you should pull the trigger.

I have an ebay account but I've never sold a coin on it. Lol. I've got the buying down to a fine art. I just need to learn how to let go of things. I haven't posted any wants or trades yet because I can't think of what I need in return. I have been looking through my items and contemplating weeding some coins out. (I'm running out of safe space) if there is something you are looking for please send a PM and I can see what I can do.

Oh you can get it from them, the price will be a little north of what you thought you reserved it for. They've done it to me also, but much later in the game, welcome to the club.

I placed my order via telephone. They didn't ask for my email. All the took was my telephone number, name, and order. I wonder if my order will go through. What time did you place your orders that it was cancelled.

I ordered the Silver 5 coin set - Farewell to the penny from the Royal Canadian Mint the day it came out.
I regret not getting the limit of 3 per household. I also ordered the fractional set. I am shocked it is still available to buy. However, the farewell to the penny silver set sold out in under 48 hours.
