I totally agree Talisman is not a good dealer. Last time I ordered bumblee bee from them. Since they did not mention order limit, I ordered 10 sets. They confirmed my order by sending me an email. After long waiting, nothing happened. I was told I could not order so many when I called them after abt 1 month. Fine, so could I just get at least one? No way, the rep told me they do not have any stock. Without any words, they just simply cancel your order although they could confirm your order at very beginning. I will never ever order any coin from a coin dealer like Talisman. This is what I told the rep. But he answered, it is fine, up to you...

When it comes to hot items through Talisman, I wouldn't rely on them to deliver. And I still don't know how they come up with those ridiculous retail prices. So if you ordered a 5-penny set from them, good luck with that.

BiBo, I wouldn't be too worried as the Budgie isn't going to be an immediate sellout with quick premiums on the secondary market. If they can't sell it on ebay for a higher price then you'll probably get the coin. Cheney is right, and you know what? They have 4 on their website and could easily fill your request for 1 but that would mean selling it at a lower price, so that won't happen. Some people do get their pre-orders filled without any problem, but others don't. And the more times you order from them the better the odds are that you'll eventually get messed up. I especially love how they send out the automated email to confirm they received your order, then delete the order without telling you. I'd rather do without having the coin in my collection than buy from them.

Thanks for the heads up on Talisman. They won't be getting my business.

My summary understanding of Talisman's business is that if you paid then your order is secured. I.e. you did wire transfer - you're OK. You pre-ordered and entered your Credit Card # but it's not charged - gambling.

Quote: I ordered the PM budgie coin and a nice display box for the whole series from Talismancoin. It's a nice display box for many series' coin cases (not coins) :) That's why after long consideration I decided to pass

I ordered all the Farewell to the Penny products from Talisman. Came up to $1600. :(
Lucky enough to get 3 of the 5-Penny sets and 2 of the 5-oz at issue price. According to my shipping details, they're at Canada Customs at the moment.
Contrary to what people are saying here, Talisman does fulfill its orders even if its at a loss to them. It's just a gamble whether your order goes through or not. I had to wait more than a month to get a shipping confirmation.

@wilsonwu89: Did you pay by credit card?
I've ordered 2 sets of penny and I've just checked, the status is still ordered.

Just received email from Talisman this evening saying my order was shipped. I'll probably have them in hand on Thursday. I have ordered a few items before from Talisman and have never had a problem. They don't ship items separately (without paying for it), so if you do a combined order and something in that order is a slow shipper from the RC Mint, then you will be waiting for everything. Other than the wait for them to receive items from the RCM, no complaints here.

Canuck, I had the same story for 3-4 years. Never had a problem with anything I ordered from them and couldn't understand why several Internet blogs were full of angry Talisman comments. Then 2012 rolled around and all of a sudden my coins were taking forever, or my order would just completely disappear from the section on their website where you can check your order status. They don't return emails, they don't return phone calls. I know for a fact that they do honor some of the orders for even the hottest new releases, but definitely not all. Not even close.

@Lostwords
I did give my credit card info in the initial order. Was not charged however.
But because I asked to combine two different orders, they invoiced instead invoiced me a Paypal bill so I paid via Paypal instead.
The order was then shipped within the next 2 days.
