The difference between the lady bug coin and this set is that the bug coin was part of a series. People
wanted the lady bug coin to complete a set.

Secondly, the bug coins have world wide appeal, while the penny sets demand is mostly from Canada.

Thirdly, the Dino coin has dropped in price from 3x or 4x list price to 2x face as more coins become available.

Or how about the 1911-2011 100th anniversary of the silver dollar. 6000 units and identical box. When it was released it sold for nearly $300 on ebay and now its down to $200.

The trend for almost every coin is downward. How low is anyone guess.

I'm scared to mention how many sets I sold, some people get angry. Lets just say its enough to get some people angry. Half of the demand was coming from our friends down south. Only 1 sale to Europe. I totally agree about the glass bugs. I believe the Dino still has some upside, wait until the next couple of releases. I think once stores and banks stop giving penny's, it might help the set as more people become aware of the penny's demise. Maybe I'm just to tired, who knows.

I got my shipping confirmation from Talisman now...
What I don't like though is that they now listed 13 (as of now) sets at $299.95. They never sold them at the original price, just held them back to make some extra money.

@omxfl: 2 questions:
1. Did you order with the original price or new price?
2. In your order page, did they updated the status to ship?

MC's no longer guarantee the ability to purchase a popular coin. Got to be one of them top tier spenders ... ai~

If product available and MC does not buy it and later it's sold out... the only way to guarantee the product to MC is to sell it forcefully. Not sure it there would be less unhappy MC thou

Their goal is to make some extra money, it's not a charity so why surprised? ;)
Most likely they did not presell and started selling when product was sold out and very popular so... in this case it's understandable

They did do a pre-sell for the original price. I was one of those that ordered the pre-sell and still haven't received the set yet but other has received it. I think my mistakes was to paid via credit card where as the others was either using cheque or paypal as payment.

as a dealer for the RCM, they were suppose to sell at orginal price untill the RCM goes sold out. as far as I remember only jm was the only dealer who honour the rule, they were the only dealer who is not selling this set at a higher price.

I got my order in at the original price. I ordered 10 sets but my order was shortened to 2 a few days later. If you read their Terms & Conditions, you can see they have the right to do that. Either way, they're the ones making a profit. But in all honesty, I guess we all would have done the same...

Lostwords, I think you read it wrong. His order of 10 was shortened to 2 sets only. (not 8)

RCM was sold out in ~1 day, long before dealers started selling this set, so no rules were broken.
I understand public upset but let's get real.

PS: Another dealer who sold at initial price is CanadaPost :)
