And another question. If dealers have to wait until its sold out to jack the price up,, and if it's saying awaiting stock, it technically hasn't sold out until they say that. Even though the chances are there that it is. I think a lot of these dealers are jumping onto this hoarding game more than any masters club member.

What a scam Gatewest pulled. They listed the coin at $149.99 overnight but phone orders only. However, you can't phone in the orders becasue it is in the middle of the night. As soon as their store opened, the price jumped to $224.99.
What a ripoff that company is. I would boycott it.

@sixofclubs: hope, my post will be helpful - unlike the previous releases, I didn't face before with the "sell out" problem at the first day of public release, so this time I've checked some options: if you really want this set for issue price, go to the couple of the nearest Canada Post branches and ask, if they did order this set. Probably they did, so leave them your contact details and be ready to arrive immediately to there after one and half or two weeks in order to collect the set. I did it yesterday, and asked in 2 CP's - they were ready to order another one, or to contact me, when it will arrive. But I didn't order...did it with RCM and do not need more then one.

Didn't I say that earlier about Albern Coins? I called the store and they told me the purposely raised the price so the system wouldn't crash. What a load of bs. I would have rather the system crash and had a chance to order the set than pay a 50% markup overnight.

You know what is driving the shortage of sets? It is the hoarders who are ruining the coin collecting hobby. Hoarders don't care about coins, they care only about flipping coins for a profit. They are ruining the hobby like the card collecting mania of the early 1990's.
People on the redflag forum are bragging about selling the set for $300. Well good for them but only a few will get such a large amount. The price will likely settle to list price in a few months.
But the hoarders are preventing the average coin collector from getting the coins they want.

The only reason people aren't bragging here is because alot of people here seem so sensitive to anyone making money on coins. As a so called hoarder, I love coins. I use the money I make from the 5 coin sets I sell, to buy other coins from the mint.

My advice is to wait about two years... this set will probably not drop below issue price, but it will drop... now is the wrong time to buy from dealers and 'flippers'...

on a forum like redflag where people join to save money get deals, I'm really not surprised they are just in the game to make a quick buck. I think the primary goal of a lot of members here is buying to add to their personal collection; after all, a lot of people here are genuine collectors. now this is my own opinion, but regardless of how the money is used, the coins were still hoarded and I don't think that's right. buying more than one set, especially at this mintage, seems like a pretty selfish thing to do in my opinion. and I see coin collecting soon being ruined, as more and more people try to flip for profit, and fewer collectors are able to get their hands on a specimen to add to their collection without having to pay ridiculous secondary market markups to 'hoarders' whose intent is solely to flip. I've talked to some 'hoarders' and have heard the theory 'if a collector likes it enough to truly collect just to add to their collection, they don't mind paying the extra.' that's just flawed logic to me.

Give me a break and stop whining about people making money flipping coins. It is the mints ruining the hobby for everyone by putting out 20 new releases just about every month and charging the over the top prices they charge right now. This is a free market society and people make money off just about everything these days you could have gotten any coin you wanted from the mint at issue price if you really wanted them it's not difficult. I flip coins for a profit so I can purchase more coins to flip and so on to build up my retirement fund.I also am a collector and pay the extra premium on some coins and I do not cry about it like some. So for everybody's sake here quit whining about people making a profit
