If someone brings me Silver eagles or maples something like that I pay spot. I buy 90% at 2 times face less than the going rate, then sell at spot or a little under to go on and move the stuff. Generic rounds I will buy at no more than a dollar less than spot and move at spot plus 50 or 75 cents. With this method you dont have to make your rent on one deal but need to do several deals. What you always got to remember is, this stuff is other peoples and its up to us the educated folks to treat them right. You still will make good money with these prices. Expand your knowledge a little and learn to make money on other things. I buy junk jewelry and tell people that bring me in NICE stuff That I dont want to buy it. Some insist they have no use for it and sell. If I were refining my own I would pay more but I pay 75% of spot for junk gold and sell to a partner at 90%. Takes about a week and a half for him to get it, plus It gives me leeway on the market going down on you. The people get 75% and I get 15%. They still get a better deal than anywhere else in my town. Think those guys are paying 35%

Hmmm? I am far more interested in seeing the coins that you purchased, rather than sweating today's silver price!!

=> to "me", buying bulk silver is a quick way of making coin-collecting seem like a total drag!! (you might as well gamble and buy a big sack of wheat, hoping that the farmers will have a bad crop next year) ....... but obviously that's just my opinion?

daviscfad: I have a few questions.
Do you have a shop away from home that deals in metals or antiques?
If so, do you do a large volume or small volume?
Are you a dealer with a license or just doing this for fun/hobbie/little extra income?
When you sell your metal do you ship it out, deliver or do they come to you?
May I ask who you sell to?

Maybe I sell to the wrong people.

I know I don't have many posts but I'm actually in the market for a nice chunk of silver right now. How do you send private messages on these forums?

** I ask you to review the rules again before you try to buy from another member - staff **

I posted a picture of the 1884CC Morgan in the Classic Grade Thread. I may show some of the other stuff in the near future. I'd rather share interesting items, not common stuff that people have little or no interest in seeing.
