I buy mine each year from the Mint too. If you can wait, then why bother buying them at all?

Why not just wait forever and never buy them, so you'll save the money that way? That way you can buy what you really want.

It sounds like you'd rather buy something else or buy it without losing any money. Mint and proof sets usually don't increase in price, except for the silver ones, which fluctuate with the price of silver, when silver changes a lot in value.

I like to collect them, to get a coin of each year, in MS or proof grade.

If you have coin shows near you, you could cherry pick your own sets and compare prices to get a good deal.
