It's popped up everywhere, the two LCS in Winnipeg both have it on their websites, but I contacted both of them and Colonial and they are all pre-selling it, I was told they won't actually have them for 1-2 weeks.

I wonder how long it will take for the War of 1812 3/4oz coin to start selling everywhere as well. I'm up for one at a decent price.

Colonial relisted them yesterday and have sold 35 or more in 24 hours. They raised their price $1 from the first listing and are now $65.95 but they are not listed as presale anymore so I assume they have them in stock.
$66 is getting towards the over priced side of the scale but they do allow you to pay via credit card while most places do not or charge 3% extra if you do.

with some pressure applyied to the RCM, there are a canadian distrubutor but still at 66.00 its a massive 17 to 18 dollar markup on a bullion coin. this is all the result of the RCM creating this coin for one company thus creating a monopoly situation. the popular wildlife series have 3 to 4 buck markups, also interesting article about this coin in next CCN.

I have not seen the actual figure posted anywhere, but when I purchased from Lear I was told the mintage was 500,000.

Quote: with some pressure applyied to the rcm I've heard that the dealers had to work out a deal with the American to get the coins, not with RCM

it was pressure by collectors and of course the input of the second and third largest dealers in canada that made the RCM to finally have canadian outlet, but still look at the crazy markup. lear capital apparently was able to order a one off canadian coin with at one point sole distribution, part of the deal is the canadian dealers can not sell in us. the RCM is one step away from being the Pojoy Mint north, minting coins for bananna republics. the way this coin was distributed and created leads to the pubic to get fleeced.
