Could you post the film on this attempt to mount or what ever they were trying to do.

Hi John,
I'm not sure of the whole story regarding these coins as I haven't looked into it too deeply. From what I understand, the vast majority of the Toronto and Montreal Goalie Mask coins were encased in some sort of plastic as a memorabilia item. The painted surface on the coin smudged or melted making them unsellable? Regardless, these coins are hard to find and I always keep my eye on them when they surface. The coins for the other four teams have low reported sales, but they are generally easy to come by.

An Edmonton one on auction ended yesterday. It had a reserve and didn't sell. The high bid was $38 I think. That's more in line with what most are worth in the curgent market. After a couple of montreal ones sold for silly money everyone seemed to feel they were all worth 150-200

Put that Edmonton Oilers coin in an NGC PF70 holder and it will sell for $500 USD.

Why not pay NGC to put the mintage # on the label?

... and they are gone. I might have to wait another year or two before we see that Toronto Mask coin again! That one is extremely hard to come by!

There is a listing on ebay saying that the mintage for the Ottawa GM Coin is 95. Is this true?!? 95 coins? That would make this one of the rarest modern Canadian silver coins out there. Also, if this is the case, why aren't these coins selling for $10,000?

Even if the mintage is 95, would you pay 10,000 bucks for one, take a look at 2009 Edmonton loonie mini pucks version I think it's 29 beyond all logic but back then everything was minted to demand.

Just read on Wikipedia (horrible source, I know) -NHL Goalie Mask Coins In October 2008, the RCM issued six sterling silver coins with a $20 Face Value. Each coin had the goalie mask of one of the six Canadian hockey teams. In the case of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens Goalie Mask coins, it is believed that the surviving mintage is less than 50. I managed to pick up the Montreal goalie mask coin in 2017 for $75 at an antique store :)
