I'll be searching the Bay State show next month for an 1837 Seated Liberty no stars Half Dime for my "My 7070 should have a hole for this" collection.

The 1884 3 cent nickel, in business strike. It took me 3 years to find one for sale and successfully acquire the piece. It was a brutal 3 years.

You mean this one, ArrowsAndRays?

I have had it for just a month now.

Oh, do you know how tell the "large date" from the "small date?"

I have one "hard to fill" spot left in my slabbed 7070 (not including the gold page);

Large Cent Classic Head 1808-14

This one is so pricey and there are so many out there with "details" grades that I am having a hard time finding one within my means. The search continues.

matthewvincent, your image is the small date, your "1" has a "flat-top" versus a "dip" (or is it called a "serif"?);

Grinds-My-Gears!

"Attribution point is the shape of the 1 in the date".

Matthew - Nice coin! I didn't know the 'tell' until a dealer at a show in Westford MA showed me. I like the small date.
oih82w8 - Man, those PCGS pics are drool worthy, aren't they?
muddler - I know, I know!

Well, Hate to Wait and Arrows!
We had "Mr. Half Dime" from the Liberty Coin Collectors Society give us a talk - Steve.
The terms "large" and "small" are very misleading.
I very much like the terms "flat-top" and "dip." Much more accurate.
He liked this example.

A variety 6 if that means anything to you all.
I just fell in love with it and had to have it.

Oh, ArrowsAndRays, where are you located? I am in New Haven, CT.

And muddler - SORRY!

Which coin is really grinding your gears to obtain? For me, it's definitley trying to find or purchase a 1914D wheat.
The 1914-D Lincoln Cent is definitely one, but the one that stings the most is a Twenty Cent Piece for my 7070. I let the perfect one get away from me a few years ago and it has haunted me since.

ArrowsAndRays,
If the weather is nice and I feel up to driving I just may go to the Bay State show.
It would be a LONG day trip.
Have you been to the NH Coin Expo?
That is my little self-indulgent treat and I have gone three times in a year and a half.
I help to staff our table - the BCCS.
Together with the Liberty Seated people we have a good time.
