I love the way he has video added to his auction so that the buyer can see the coin thoroughly. Nice job by the seller/collector.

That coin doesn't look MS64 at all to me. Anyone agree?

Here is a broad picture of some toners I pulled CRH that I finally had a chance to acetone and place in flips. Deep blue and magenta

Bonjour Here is a quarter that looks to me as if it had been painted. I love the blue shade. What do you think?

Hi, my son Jamie and I are new to collecting. Do toned coins continue to change color? How long does it take for toning to start. I have a 1971 silver dollar that has rainbow colors. I'm finding the discussion very interesting. I was going to get rid of it, until reading these posts. I love the info on this site! Even a few laugh are to be had. I always thought natural color preferable. Rox

If attractive and good photos are in the ebay listing they can sell for more to the right bidders.

I forgot to ask, what causes toning? Why is artificial toning undesirable compared to natural toning and how do you tell the difference? Rox

^ Firstly, welcome!
Toning is caused by interaction between silver (or copper) and the air (oxidization) or what's in the air (such as tobacco smoke) or contact with wood, paper or other surfaces.
In silverware, it would be called tarnish.
I think most collectors dislike artificial toning because it can be garish, and can be used to cover a multitude of problems with a coin.

Nice toned coins. I also like toning if it is authentic. Curious tho why there isn't a lot of USA coins toned - at least the ones I have seen on ebay and other auction sites?
