"Don't have it in hand but should be with me by Saturday.Love it."

Yeah, it's a better design than the one that will be on the new 2017 one pound coins.

They'll only struggle to make ones to fool vending machines, fooling people is easy.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone somewhere is preparing machines and making test pieces already.
China may even beat the UK to circulate them, like they did with this years £2 designs.

Interesting times ahead

Nice to see some more hammered coins flippy. Especially shillings!

Looks like a decent example as your profile pic too .. do you have a larger image of it?

This arrived Yesterday, It is listed as a Brit coin But was Minted for the Colonies .
I think they were used in the West Indies and Ceylon.
I know they are referred to as a "Christian Quattie" due to the use of these in churches where it was considered "Bad Form" to put Copper coins in the collection plates.
More information would be greatly appreciated .

The coin is 12mm and weighs in at a mighty o.7g

George the 4th, unpopular and uninterested heir (and sometime Regent) of George III. A wastrel, by all accounts, as well as a bit of a rake.

^ William IIII btw

The coin is a threehalfpence or one and a half pence. Never actually legal tender in the UK unlike the half farthing.

Book price is £65-70 in EF, £100 up in UNC. My collectors coins GB lists 2 types and yours looks to be 1835 over 4
