The only good thing I can state about this coin is that I purchased by weight as sterling.

I just recently bought an 1889 Victorian Shilling (Large Jubilee Head) off ebay and it came in today! I got this coin at the <$10 mark, but my research shows that in this grade it could go for $20-$30 (2x2 it was sent to me in said $80..?). Any opinions on value are most welcome. Also, sorry about the blurry obverse pic. The image optimizer did that, ha! Even though I'm still using an iPhone 6 and a 10x power loop.

yes, it's yet another shilling of Charles I from me! This one from 1639-40, Tower mint, privy mark triangle. Sadly, weak on the bust and from a die that's breaking up but a very crisp strike with a decent reverse and on a full flan, so generally a reasonable example for this issue. .

Got my Royal Baby cupro-nickel five pound coin in the post from The Royal Mint today. Very hard to photograph as it's very shiny and there were a few marks on the plastic. The RM's Brilliant Uncirculated coins nowadays are about as good as their Proofs were in the early 1970s:

Yet another shilling from the reign of Charles I for me! Issued between May 1638 and July 1639 (probably towards the end of that period) Spink 2787, Sharp F5/1 Ex Michael Sharp and illustrated (reverse only) as an example of the type in his paper in the British Numismatic Journal 47 (1977) Plate VII #52. Decent enough for the type and it's always nice to have a bit of provenance! Seller's image for now. .

Arrived this morning. Not the strongest of obverses (I'd call it gF) but the reverse is better. More importantly it's a nice round 'balanced' coin with pleasing toning. All in all, although it wasn't a bargain, I feel I did OK.

Some new additions from the past few months: 1900 One Shilling 1911 Sovereign (NGC called it MS-64, but slabs aren't really my thing) 1711 Shilling (too bad about the scratches)
