I did start to write a limerick about Czar Nicholas II of Russia ...

Challenge accepted

Czar Nicholas Second of Russia
Put his face (by mistake) in hot kasha *.
He exclaimed, "Oh, my beard!
It got totally smeared
For my image on rubles of Russia!"

*Footnote:
Kasha is a Russian word for hot cereal or any cooked grains.

There was a lady named Millicent
who Daddy left her a Copper Cent.
It was a 1793,
graded MS-63;
the details were absolutely magnificent!

There once were two bits from the mint,
that had a few things t'others din't.
She'd put on some weight in a couple of ways,
adding front arrows and rear rays,
'cuz she never took the diet hint!

Up for auction some wheats that are rolled
if your lucky you'll find none that are holed
on the end is a dime
it seems like every time
and they are unsearched I've been told

A family had a nice coin collection
they sent double eagles to the mint for inspection
but the mint said "wait a minute"
"these coins can't be in it"
now the family has a red faced complexion

I wil be out of town for awhile...

I hope its OK to post 3 that I put in another thread awhile ago (not a contest):

Artistically best ... my belief,
is the nickel with Western motif.
On reverse is Black Diamond
NY City's great bison.
Its obverse a mix of three Chiefs.

A dime poem meant to awaken
a truth that is ofttimes forsaken.
most people think "Mercury,"
instead of "Winged Liberty,"
whose visage is so oft mistaken!

Now let's throw a pun into the mix for fun

A half dollar addict & newbie
was learning of mint marks he'd see
He said, "now its so clear
A "P" & "S" can appear,
But I am not sure, Ken a "D?"

and for day three of my terrible limericks...

I purchased a coin tonight
But before I really excite
Is it real or fake?
the thought makes me shake
Luckily, it's completely alright.

And here goes day three:

P.S.: Kasha is Russian for hot oatmeal - coming from a native Russian speaker

Today's limerick will be about James B. Longacre:

There once was a man named Longacre,
Whos dad was a terrible baker.
James didn't make dimes,
He invented the trimes.
James was an awsome coin maker!

An Indian head Princess turned green
A color I did not want to clean
So she washed her hair
in VERDI-CARE
And now has a lovely Sheen

My guess is that it was the only kind served in your house.

I grew up (natively as well) on all kinds of kasha.

Everyone so far has the 5 line part correct.
I did make a typing error on my example. (4 lines)
Third line should of been split up into two separate lines.
Now, because some are very close as far as judging I want you
to go back and read yours and you will be allowed to make some
changes. This will be on your original ones posted only naturally.
Maybe just one word or so that needs attention. You may need to add
a word or two to make the correct rhyme rhythm happen. I'd hate to see
a good one go by because of just one slight error. Thanks.

I found a penny in a vent,
Had no idea what this meant.
Was not till much later,
and age much greater.
I learned it's actually a cent!

Thanks Indian...
