This one retains much more of it's original color and has a much more easily read Gutzon Borglum copyright notice/signature at the six o'clock position on the obverse. The Norse-American Centennial medal was struck by the US Mint under authority given to them by the US Congress and the President. The Stone Mountain medal was a privately struck piece - it was struck by the firm of Whitehead & Hoag in New Jersey. If you look very closely, you can just make out the company name at the bottom of the medal's reverse. Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! (c) commems. All rights reserved.
